Model Answer 1:
The idea of creating a new language for international communication has been proposed as a solution to overcome language barriers and facilitate global understanding. This essay will discuss the potential benefits and demerits of inventing a new global language and argue that the advantages of such a language would outweigh the problems associated with its implementation.
There are some challenges and drawbacks associated with inventing a new language for international communication. One major concern is the preservation of cultural diversity and the potential loss of linguistic heritage. Language is deeply intertwined with culture, history, and identity. Introducing a new language may lead to the erosion of traditional languages and cultural practices, as people shift their focus to the new universal language. This could result in the loss of valuable cultural diversity and the richness of linguistic traditions that have evolved over centuries.
Despite the drawbacks, there are substantial advantages associated with it. One significant advantage of a new language for international communication is improved global understanding and cooperation. Currently, language barriers hinder effective communication between individuals from different linguistic backgrounds, leading to misunderstandings and limited exchange of ideas. With a new language specifically designed for international communication, people from diverse cultures and countries would be able to engage in direct and meaningful conversations. This would promote mutual understanding, foster cultural appreciation, and facilitate cooperation in various domains, such as trade, diplomacy, and academic collaboration. For instance, the adoption of Esperanto as an international auxiliary language has demonstrated the potential for enhanced communication and cultural exchange among people from different linguistic backgrounds.
In conclusion, while challenges such as language preservation and cultural diversity should be addressed effectively, I believe that improved global understanding, enhanced cultural exchange, and streamlined international relations are some of the advantages that can be achieved through a common global language. Therefore, the benefits of inventing a new language for international communication outweigh the potential problems associated with its implementation.
Sample Answer 2:
Today, English is regarded as an international language to communicate between different nationalities all around the world. However, some people insist that a new international language should be introduced to enhance more effective interaction and communication among people. I believe that it is a great idea to bring the world on one platform and this action will have more advantages than disadvantages.
To commence with the demerits of it - if the world has a single dominant language, it may affect negatively the cultural identity of some countries. Many languages will go instinct as everyone will be eager to learn a new international language to cope with the pace of life. Regardless of their mother language, the new language will become their priority to have higher education and better jobs. In addition, this would also increase the expenditure of the state as creating, publishing and teaching this new language will require extra funds from the government.
On the other hand, there are some concrete advantages of it. Trading among the countries will be easier without a language barrier, which will increase the economic progress of all nations. Also, this process will make it convenient for every individual to travel around the world without any communication barrier, and due to this new international language, individuals will have equal opportunities in job sectors, which will provide higher standards of living and result in increased paid taxes. Finally, it is not that easy for non-native people to learn English perfectly as it requires time and experience. The accent is another problem for people in non-English-speaking countries. If a new international language is introduced, the accent would no longer be a problem for many people.
In conclusion, introducing a new global language will eliminate communication barriers, and allow people to have equal job opportunities. This will offer substantial benefits that would outweigh the demerits associated with a new global language.
