Model Answer 1:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a regular commuter of your bus service - Maple Tree Transportation, and I travelled from Edmonton to Calgary on April 5th. Unfortunately, my new suitcase was completely damaged due to the carelessness of your bus staff and I am writing to claim compensation for that and would request you to investigate the issue so that it does not happen to any other commuter.
With regards to the incident, I took a bus from the Edmonton city station at 2:00 pm and reached the Calgary bus bay at 8:00 pm on 25th February 2020. I checked in a suitcase made by American Tourister and it contained my personal belongings. I instructed the bus staff to handle it with care. Unfortunately, when I arrived at Calgary bus bay and noticed my suitcase, its bottom part was completely torn down. I am sure this happened because someone very forcefully pulled it in and out of the luggage box. On top of that, the left wheel of my suitcase was also broken into pieces. This happened because your bus staff bungled my luggage.
Mishandling of passengers luggage is not acceptable. My brand new suitcase got vitiated due to inadequate management and disregard of your bus staff. Therefore, I request quick action in this regard and ask for full payment for the damage caused to the suitcase. I am attaching the receipt for the suitcase which I purchased last month. Also, talk to the bus staff so that they do not repeat that incident.
Awaiting your reply and expecting immediate action from you.
Yours faithfully,
Andy Odesa

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am Ethan Deen a regular commuter of your bus. Recently I took your bus to reach Boston and to my surprise, your staff's mishandling of my luggage caused severe damage to it. I am writing to claim compensation for the property damage while travelling on a bus from your company.
I travelled from Washington, D.C. to Boston on bus #301 on April 21, 2020. The bus left the Greyhound Station at 9:30 am. Before the trip, I handed over my luggage to the conductor, who helped me to place my suitcase in the luggage compartment, which was almost empty at that time. After I arrived at the Boston Bus Station, the person in charge opened the compartment and I noticed that my brand new Gucci suitcase was smashed under the pressure of the weight of several other luggage.
My suitcase was firm and very beautiful with its modern design. However, it obviously hasn’t been designed to resist such a weight on it. I am very depressed because I can no longer use this suitcase. Its handle bent and two wheels got detached.
Since the damage was caused by the careless actions of your employee, I would like to claim my compensation of $250, which was the original price of my suitcase. Please, deliver a cheque to the address, written above.
Faithfully yours,
Ethan Deen
Model Answer 3:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I travelled from London to Manchester on 20th January 2020 on your bus - M548, and unfortunately, my new suitcase was completely damaged due to mishandling by a staff member on the bus. I'm writing to claim the compensation for the damage while using your service and hoping to hear from you soon regarding this.
The bus I took left London Central Bus Station at 2:00 pm on 20th July and I handed over my suitcase to a bus staff before taking my seat. It is a four-wheel suitcase made by TravelPro and it contained my personal belongings. When I arrived at the Manchester Bus Terminal, I got my suitcase back but to my surprise, its upper part was torn down and two of its wheels were broken. I immediately complained to the bus driver but he didn't take any action and advised me to write to you instead.
I purchased this suitcase only a week ago and the warranty does not cover such forceful physical damage. As your bus staff is responsible for the damage, I am entitled to get proper compensation. I am attaching the invoice for my suitcase and pictures of the damaged suitcase with this letter.
I look forward to hearing from you regarding this soon.
Yours faithfully,
Milad Rahimi

Model Answer 4:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am Sameed Qureshi, a loyal customer of your bus service, writing to bring your attention to property damage while travelling by one of your buses from Hamburg to Frankfurt on 24th February 2021. I am hoping to receive compensation for the damage and would expect you to issue a show-cause letter to the person responsible.
Regarding the incident, I took a bus (number BT5801) on 24th February 2021 and the bus left the Hamburg Central Bus Station at 7:30 am. Like most travellers, I submitted my suitcase to a bus staff who kept it in the luggage compartment. When the bus arrived at the Frankfurt terminal, I was shocked to discover that my suitcase was severely damaged. It was a maroon suitcase that my dad has given me as a present. Hence it has a sentimental value to me. It is an expensive suitcase made by Briggs & Riley company.
Since I have submitted the suitcase to one of your employees before embarking on this journey, I expect you to reimburse me the amount equivalent to the fair value of my suitcase. Please find the enclosed purchase receipt of the suitcase. I have already decided that if you fail to pay me for my loss within the next 14 days, I shall institute legal proceedings against your company in a small claims court.
I am anticipating immediate remedial action.
Yours faithfully,
Sameed Qureshi

I am writing to you today to show my distress because my new suitcase got damaged on your bus.
I was travelling to San Francisco from San Jose on your red travel bus on June 25th. My family and I planned for a vacation to San Francisco and arranged tickets for the same to travel on June 25th. We reached the pickup point on time, received tickets from the counter and went on board the bus.
The bus attendant at that place had taken our luggage and moved it to the luggage compartment in the back of the bus. We warned him to do handle that bag carefully and not put any extra weight on that bag. Unfortunately, while getting out at the destination, we were shocked to find that the luggage got damaged and some of the items came out of the bag. We have adjusted the bag to carry out of the bus at that time. After that, I can not explain our difficulties in transporting that luggage to the hotel that we booked.
My bag was red and has stunning look. It was bought recently as part of our plan for this trip, but it is quite disappointing to us to see that the bag got damaged and cannot be used anymore. It was your bus attendant who mishandled the bags and caused damage to it, so it is your responsibility to compensate for the bag.
I hope you would take this matter seriously before I take any further legal action.
Yours faithfully,
K. Kalyan
I travelled from Mumbai to Banglore on 20th September on one of your company's buses. I am writing this letter about the damaged luggage during the course of this travel. It was a very unfortunate event and I am hoping that you would take the necessary actions regarding it.
I travel on your buses very often and this time I used my favourite red coloured American Tourister wheel bag. When I reached the Bangalore bus stoppage, the bus conductor pulled the bag from the luggage box using heavy and unnecessary force. It was quite unprofessional of him, and due to this, two wheels of the trolley bag completely broke.
I asked the supervisor to compensate for the damage caused to my luggage, and he suggested that I lodge a formal complaint to your office. I am enclosing a copy of the ticket for your reference.
I want suitable compensation for the real value of the bag. I am hoping that you would arrange for that. If I do not hear from you in the next 7 days, I will lodge a legal complaint in the consumer rights court.
I look forward to hearing from you by next week.
Yours faithfully,
Micheal Fernandes
I am Bach and have just finished the trip from Ha Noi Capital to Ho Chi Minh City on your bus on 5th July. Everything was fine until I claimed back my suitcase from your employee and noticed problems with it.
The first time I boarded the bus, I gave my suitcase to the bus's assistant, and I told him not to put it near the wet things and on the wet floor because it had a leather surface. I also mentioned that I had a few electronic devices such as my laptop and iPad in the suitcase. But when I received my suitcase at the station, it was wet and it had affected my clothes and electronic device inside. Wet clothes may not be a big issue but I am really concerned about my laptop, which is not turning on. It contains a lot of my important official information.
Now, I am writing this letter to you and hope that you will talk to your employee not to do such a thing again. Also, arrange to offer me the compensation for the repair charge of my laptop. I am looking forward to hearing your response.
Yours truly,
Bach Dotung
